When we connected with
the amazing flows and raw
beats put across by Detroit
artist Feloni, Griot Soul Films
was excited by the opportunity
to support her work. The
artist songs are often
controversial, but never weak
as the production quality
is stellar.

Feloni shipped us a copy of
her album, A Woman's
Revenge and we've found a
track that seems like a hot
one for the film soundtrack.

We're in talks with the artist
about possible inclusion.

The other tracks on the album
give the listener a hard-core
glimpse into the game as

Griot Soul Films was ecstatic to make a connection

Many in the GSF collective, including the Executive
Director, have been fans of the Oakland native for
years. Black-connected communities in Oakland and
beyond makes her one of Griot Soul Films top picks

The elegant blues sounds of Ruthie Foster
remind us that the universe always plants
seeds of hope and heart together.

Ruthie's take on the famed Maya Angelou
poem Phenomenal Woman turns on the kind
of power that gives even this masterpiece
a jolt.

If you haven't yet had the pleasure of sitting
with Ruthie's solid brand of acoustic soul,
Griot Soul Films is honored to do the intros.

Gentle melodic artist Daleena
graces the Soundtrack for She
Wasn't Last Night with sweet
tones and a unique quiet force
hidden inside each note.

Daleena Jones has been singing
since the age of two and writing
since age seven. She grew up in
Oakland, CA, where she was
influenced by many artists and
types of music. She has a love
for all types of sound, from
gospel to alternative and this
general love for music is what
has shaped her as an artist.
While her style is a type of jazzy
R&B, you can certainly hear the
influences of other kinds of music
in her writing, singing and vocal
arrangements. Daleena is
currently working on her third
album with no set release date at
this time.
